
The mission of the African American Archive of Columbia County is to forge a deeper understanding of the lived historical experience of Black people in the Hudson Valley, for the benefit of both their descendants and the world at large.

FCWC brings together concerned citizens, numerous community organizations, educators, and diverse professionals committed to preserving and rehabilitating the natural resources of Westchester County.
Mission is to provide leadership that educates about environmental issues, advocates sound decision-making and unifies groups and individuals to protect and preserve Westchester’s environment and address climate change.

GHHN is New York State’s ‘go-to’ service organization focusing on interpretation, collections care programming, and the conservation and preservation of objects in collecting institutions statewide.
They provide the tools and training so that historical societies, historic house museums, heritage centers, historic sites, archives, and libraries may better care for their own collections.

Comprised of sites and organizations in lower New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, NorSC members are engaged in rethinking their current narratives to create inclusivity by featuring stories of enslaved and free Black peoples who lived and worked on these properties. NorSC serves as a resource to the public and educational communities for understanding and learning about these forgotten stories. The public-facing goal is to end the myth that slavery did not exist in the North or was mild in comparison to slavery in the South.

Underground Railroad Education Center researches and preserves the local and national history of the Underground Railroad movement, its international connections, and its legacy to today’s social justice issues, thereby empowering people of all ages to be agents of change toward an equitable and just society.
