Book Club Kits @ Somers Library

What Is A Book Club Kit?

  • Book Clubs are a wonderful way to read, share and discuss timely books of all kinds. 
  • Book Club Kits are created to better support book clubs for our patrons. Book Club Kits provide an opportunity for Book Clubs to schedule a book to discuss with enough copies to assure that all members will be able to get a copy of the book in time to enjoy their discussions. 


Each Book Club Kit Includes The Following:

  • Multiple Copies of the selected book title
  • Discussion Guide: Including specific information about the book, the author, and relevant discussion questions. 

Get A Kit For YOUR Book Club!

Book Club Kit Request Form – Complete and submit a form available here.

Step 1: Reserve A Book Club Kit

  • Facilitator – The the person who completed the Book Club Kit Request Form for their Group.
    • At least one member of a Book Group must have a current adult (18+) Somers Library card.
  • All Book Club Kits Kits must reserved at least 6-8 weeks in advance of the Club’s meeting date.
  • Book Club Kits may be reserved up to one year in advance 

 

Step 2: Check Out A Book Club Kit
Book Club Kits can be checked out two different ways. Check Out Method will be asked on the Book Club Request Form.

  • 1. Facilitator Checks Out Copies – The Book Club’s Facilitator (person who completed the Request Form) checks out all of the copies of the book on their Library Card.
    • Facilitator acknowledges responsibility for the entire kit including: multiple books, and 1 Discussion Guide
  • 2. Individual Check Outs – Patrons can pick up and check out their reserved title individually at Somers Library. Each person must have a WLS Library card to check out their copy.
  • Each Book Club Kit will have custom due dates, with late fees assessed including replacement costs


Step 3: Return A Book Club Kit

  • Facilitator Checks Out All Copies – All copies must be returned together at the same time to Somers Library.
  • Individual Check Outs – All copies must be returned to a WLS Library by the due date.
