This Library-sponsored book group is led by Diana Cunningham, Librarian, who selects the books to be discussed, with feedback and suggestions from the group. Copies of the book to be discussed are available on a first-come, first serve basis.

The Somers Library Classic Book Group discusses classic titles recommended by the group, identified by surveys, and facilitated by Diana Cunningham, Librarian. The group meets bimonthly on Monday nights. Meetings are hybrid (depending on weather) and open to all interested Somers residents. Copies of the current title to be discussed are available at the Library.

Silent Book Club is a welcoming space for book lovers to read in a calm, shared setting. Bring your own book and enjoy the quiet, reading alongside fellow book enthusiasts. With its self-directed, low-pressure format, this Silent Book Club offers a refreshing twist on the traditional book club.
All adult readers are welcome—ebooks or audiobooks, poetry or prose, fiction or non-fiction, graphic novels… it’s BYOBook.
What To Expect –
1. Quick introductions and sharing what we’re reading (if you want to share, no pressure!)
2. Quiet reading
3. Socialize or keep reading – whatever your preference
If you’re running late or can’t stay for the whole time, just come on in and join us when you can.

Children receive a library book in advance to read before each meeting. During our meeting we will discuss the book, and do a craft, game or other activity. Bus transportation is from SIS to the Library. Children must be in the grade they register for.
